Get the feeling of shifting your weight to the right on the backswing and then to the left on the follow-through.

Here’s a great drill that will teach you how to feel the type of weight shift that you should have in your swing.

First of all, tee up a ball and get out your 8-iron.  Now start your backswing as normal BUT as the club is traveling back simply lift your front foot in and up off the ground.  And then continue swinging back feeling the weight on the INSIDE of your back leg. Never put your weight on the outside of your back leg.

To start your downswing just re-plant your front foot on the ground, and just after impact raise your back leg off the ground and swing through to your follow-through.  Then hold your finish for five seconds and doing this will prove that you’ve swung with good balance.

Do this drill over and over again to groove the weight transfer that you are looking for.  Good luck
