Think baseball pitcher!
One of the biggest mistakes I see golfers make is not using their feet in the swing. Your feet can give you so much length and accuracy. And I want you to prove this to yourself by doing this little drill. Setup as you would to hit a golf shot but hold a golf ball in the hand you'd normally throw something with. Once setup I want you to throw the ball as far as you possibly can without moving your feet at all. Notice how you felt.
Now this time I want you to do the same thing but use your feet especially on the follow-though. Make sure all your weight goes onto your front foot on the follow-through. And also make sure that the heel of your back foot comes off the ground. Think baseball pitcher!
I don't know about you, but I found that the ball went a heck of a lot further doing the second throw, and when I finished the first throw I felt as though I had a lot of stored up energy left. If you felt that, then the same thing is happening in your golf swing.
To get the feeling of what should be happening in your golf swing I suggest you continue practicing throwing balls using your feet. This will slowly install the feeling into your golf swing. It's also a very good image to have when you are looking at a shot. Imagine yourself throwing your ball to the target. This will associate some easy action to what you want to do and this can only do your game some good.
